Financial Policy
Our primary mission is to deliver the best and most comprehensive care available. An important part of the mission is making the cost of optimal care as easy and manageable for our patients by offering several payment options.
Payment Options:
- Cash
- Check
- American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, CareCredit, Cherry
Payment in full is expected at the time of service.
If you are in need of an extended payment option, we have partnered with CareCredit and Cherry who offers monthly payment plans for those who are eligible. Any remaining unexpected balances are due and payable in full upon written notice. Late charges will be applied to balances not paid within 30 days of notice. The parent or guardian who accompanies a child to our office for treatment is responsible for payment of services rendered.
Dental Insurance
As a courtesy to you, we are happy to work with your carrier to maximize your benefit and directly bill them for reimbursement for your treatment. We estimate your portion based on the most up-to-date information we have, but it is only an estimate. Your estimated portion is due on the treatment date. When the final payment is received from your insurance company we will reconcile your account and bill or refund any difference.
Dental insurance is a contract between you, your employer, and the insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. The filing of insurance claims is a courtesy that we extend. It is your responsibility to understand the type of dental insurance you have and the benefits selected by you and/or your employer. Not all services are a covered benefit in all contracts. Most insurance plans are not designed to pay the entire fee. Many policies have deductibles and copayment clauses that limit their liability. Therefore, owing to the complexity of insurance contracts, we can only estimate in good faith, not guarantee coverage or benefits. Please contact your insurance carrier prior to your visit to obtain essential information which will accurately reflect your coverage. This information, as well as a detailed breakdown of your dental benefits, is also available on the website listed on your insurance card. Providing us with this information will expedite the processing of claims.
If you have had a change in insurance, please provide your updated insurance card prior to your appointment in order to allow us to have enough time to verify your insurance benefits. We would be happy to answer any insurance questions you may have.
Deposits
For treatment plans of $5000 or more, a 10% deposit is required to secure your initial treatment appointment. This deposit will be applied toward the cost of treatment.
Returned Check Fees
Asheville Smiles Cosmetic & Family Dentistry charges $50 for checks returned due to insufficient balance.
Missed Appointment Fees
In order to serve you better and keep the cost of dental care down, we try to maintain an efficient appointment system. However, our cost of providing care increases greatly when people fail to keep scheduled appointments or cancel at the last minute. We have numerous patients waiting for care. When you fail to show up for your appointment, you take away time that another patient could be receiving care. We also prepare for you specifically for your appointment. Your dental team has reviewed your insurance, medical chart, dental chart, and has set up for your visit before you get here. This requires a minimum of at least one hour prior to your appointment to prepare for your visit. For these reasons, you agree to the following attendance policies to be a patient at our office.
We require at least 24 hour business notice for any cancelled appointment. A $50 missed appointment fee will be placed on your account for the first missed appointment. A $100 missed appointment fee will be placed on your account for the second missed appointment. You will be required to prepay your treatment appointment in full to reschedule. After 3 missed appointments or cancelled appointments, we reserve the right to place to dismiss you from the practice or place you on a short call list. A short call list means we will phone you when an appointment time becomes available on short notice. This gives you the opportunity to know if your busy schedule has an opening for a dental appointment within the next few hours.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help you get the care you want or need.
