Our Asheville Smiles Cosmetic and Family Dentistry team is always here when you need an emergency dentist. Especially when it involves tooth related pain or dental emergencies.
In most cases, Dr. Merrell can fit emergencies in on the very same day. We make every effort to see you as quickly as possible, for fast pain relief. If your situation is manageable, we can schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience and provide you with advice on how to manage what is going on.
After Hours Emergencies
Dr. Merrell works with an on-call network of area dentists to provide after-hours care on the evenings and weekends. Someone will always be available to answer your call, even if our office is not open.
“When Should I Call the Dentist?”
Are you debating whether you should call a dentist about a possible dental emergency? Let Dr. Merrell know right away if you are experiencing any of the following:
- An abscessed tooth
- Broken/chipped tooth
- Pain that keeps you from going to work
- Something that is embarrassing (such as a broken bridge or missing crown)
- Swelling
Common Causes of Toothaches
If your mouth hurts, take note and listen. Most tooth pain does not go away on its own, or with the help of over the counter medications. In many cases, the situation is caused by inflammation or irritation to the dental nerve. It could be that you have an undiagnosed cavity, existing gum disease, or need to replace a filling.
The only way to know for certain what is going on with your tooth is to have it thoroughly examined by a dentist.
Dr. Rebekkah Merrell is one of Asheville’s most experienced and highly trained oral health providers.
Our Asheville practice can bypass the multi-appointment process required by conventional dental crowns. Smiles can be restored in just one visit with CEREC.
